Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya has requested a medical timeout during her fourth-round match against Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina at Wimbledon, Championship.com reports.
The Russian athlete asked for help from doctors in the first set with a score of 3:4 for Rybakina. “socialbites.ca” follows the events of the match in the text online publications duel.
In December 2023, the International Olympic Committee allowed Russia and Belarus to participate in the 2024 Olympics with neutral status. The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from 26 July to 11 August.
On March 6, the International Tennis Federation announced that it had decided to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in France under neutral status. The Russians and Belarusians will be eligible to compete in the 2024 Olympics if they adhere to the principles of neutral athletes previously formulated by the International Olympic Committee. However, Kalinskaya, who was accepted to the Games, refused to travel to Paris.
