Bobrovsky becomes the fourth goaltender from Russia to win the Stanley Cup 08:00

Russian Florida Panthers goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky, who won the Stanley Cup with the team on the night of June 25, became the fourth Russian goalkeeper to win this cup.

Before this, only three goaltenders from Russia had won a Stanley Cup title with their team: Nikolai Khabibulin (2004), Ilya Bryzgalov (2007) and Andrei Vasilevski (2020, 2021). For Bobrovsky, this was the first Stanley Cup of his career.

Florida Panthers faced Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL) play-off finals. In the final match, all seven matches were played. Florida initially took a 3-0 lead in the series, but then lost three straight games. Panthers won the seventh game, played at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, USA, with a score of 2:1. Bobrovsky spent the entire match in goal.

The goaltender twice won the Vezina Trophy award for the best goaltender of the NHL regular season (2013, 2017). Playing in Florida since 2019; before that he played in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers (2010-2012) and Columbus Blue Jackets (2012-2019).
