USSR Honorary Coach Tatyana Tarasova said that Russian figure skaters changed their sports citizenship because they could not compete in the domestic arena. TASS.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations and recommended that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. At the end of 2023, the organization decided to allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics as neutral athletes.
