It is reported that CSKA Moscow captain Igor Akinfeev will soon extend his contract with the club “Sports Express”.

It was noted that the club and the player reached an agreement in principle.

Akinfeev’s current contract with CSKA runs until the end of this season.

On April 8, Akinfeev turned 38 years old. He continues to play for CSKA, whose colors he has maintained since 2003. With the Army team, he became the Russian champion six times, won the country’s Cup and the Super Cup seven times, and also won the UEFA Cup. Akinfeev won a bronze medal at Euro 2008 with the Russian national team and reached the quarter-finals at his home 2018 World Championship, where he was team captain.
