Spartak Moscow winger Theo Bongonda admitted that he does not see much difference between the team’s head coach Vladimir Sliskovich and the club’s former coach Guillermo Abascal. His words lead the way Metatations.
“I can’t say whether there is any difference between Abascal and Sliskovic, but in the end, the most important thing is the result. If you win with one coach, everyone will blame the past for the bad results. I don’t see Abascal’s fault in not achieving such results under his management,” said Bongonda.
Sliskovich became Spartak’s acting head coach after Spanish specialist Abascal was fired from the team in mid-April.
On April 28, Spartak defeated Moscow Lokomotiv with a score of 3:2 in the 26th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). Thanks to this victory, Spartak rose to fourth place in the rankings. The team that fired Abascal in mid-April now has 42 points. Lokomotiv is in fifth place with one point missing.
In the next round of the national championship, Spartak will play away against Paris Nizhny Novgorod. The match will be played on May 5 and the starting whistle will blow at 19.00 Moscow time. Lokomotiv will face Rostov at home on May 6, the match will start at 20.30 Moscow time.
