The International Football Association Board (IFAB) may change penalties for goalkeepers who delay time ESPN.
Currently, a free kick is awarded if the goalkeeper holds the ball for more than six seconds. Referees almost never sanction players for this offense because they believe the penalty is too severe.
It has now been suggested that the goalkeeper be allowed to keep the ball for eight seconds. Once the goalkeeper fixes the ball, the referee will start counting the time. The referee counts the last three seconds by raising his hand. The referee will give a verbal warning to the goalkeeper for the first time. If the goalkeeper does not throw in a second time after the final time has expired, the referee will decide on a corner kick or a throw-in from the same line as the penalty mark.
In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
In March, the Russian team played a friendly match against Serbia and won with a score of 4:0. This was his first match with the European team after the suspension. A friendly match with the Belarusian national team is planned for June 2024.
