Russia calls for a possible ceasefire during the Olympics 16:13

Russian Wrestling Federation President Mikhail Mamiashvili considers a ceasefire possible for the duration of the Olympic Games to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Sports24.

“I think a ceasefire is possible during the Olympics. They just need to listen to what the Russian President tells them. And it will not only work during the Olympics,” Mamiashvili said.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations and recommended that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.

To qualify for the Games, Russian athletes will have to sign updated conditions of participation that include a commitment to respect the Olympic Charter, including the peaceful mission of the Olympic movement, the IOC said. The Summer Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
