The Board of Directors of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has decided to change the dates of the championship next season. This has been reported official league website.
The KHL Board of Directors has approved new deadlines for the holding of the KHL Championship and MHL Championship from the 2024/2025 season (31 May). Due to these changes, preseason training camp dates were shortened. At the same time, since this year is an off-season transition period, the period starting from May 1, 2024 is within the scope of this ban.
The KHL is currently playing in the quarterfinals. The semi-final participants in the remaining two pairs have not yet been determined. Spartak Moscow will host Metallurg in the sixth match of the series on March 30. The score is 3:2 in favor of Magnitogorsk team. In the last match of the series, Avangard Omsk will host Lokomotiv on March 30. Score 3:3.
Chelyabinsk Traktor and Avtomobilist from Yekaterinburg had previously reached the semi-finals.
The current winner of the Gagarin Cup is CSKA. On the 100th anniversary of its establishment on April 29, 2023, the Ordu team won the cup by winning against Ak Bars Kazan in the seventh match of the final series. CSKA and Ak Bars will no longer be able to compete for the cup this season.
