The death of Russian journalist and television commentator Vasily Utkin is a great loss for the country, football and commentary industry. This opinion was expressed by sports commentator and journalist Dmitry Guberniev in a conversation with socialbites.ca. According to him, Utkin was worried that he did not have the opportunity to comment on matches “on the big screen”.
“This is of course a huge shock to all of us and a huge loss for the country, journalism, football and commentary. He was the best in his profession. And now, looking back, you understand that we did not know how to appreciate talents, we did not know how to support somewhere, how to help somewhere. He was worried, I know I haven’t had the opportunity to comment on the big screen in the last few years. A person who is simply a virtuoso in his profession is definitely the best among us. Of course we were orphaned. He has turned into a great blogger, a YouTube master, a great word juggler, as always. But as a football fan, I always missed him on the big screen. “I have expressed this many times, this is a great loss for all of us and of course we are orphaned,” he said.
Sports correspondent Ivan Karpov reported that Vasily Utkin died on March 19. Utkin was 52 years old.
According to Baza Telegram channel, Utkin was urgently taken to the cardiology department of Pirogov Hospital in Moscow in the afternoon. Doctors diagnosed him with acute vascular insufficiency. The football specialist was put on a ventilator but attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. The first cause of death is pulmonary embolism.
