Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Vice President Valery Kamensky evaluated the possibility of Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin breaking the record of Canadian Wayne Gretzky. His words are quoted Live Result.
“Of course Alexander is a great hockey player. He came very close to breaking Gretzky’s record. Is it realistic to score fifty goals in two years at his age? Yes, of course. I’m sure it will be successful. Can’t anything stop him? The important thing is that the injuries don’t go away,” Kamensky said.
Ovechkin played in 64 matches in total this season, scoring 21 goals and making 31 assists. In the game against the Florida Panthers on February 25, the Russian forward played his 1,400th NHL game.
Ovechkin has scored 843 goals in his entire career in the National Hockey League. Legendary Canadian Wayne Gretzky, who tops the list of the best snipers in NHL history, has 894 goals. The difference is 51 goals.
Ovechkin before wandered around Gretzky’s number of games with a goal in the regular season.
