Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova agreed with the opinion that international figure skating competitions are incomplete without Russian athletes. His words lead the way “Sports Express”.

“I agree with the opinion that international figure skating competitions are incomplete without Russians. Without our skaters, they lost quality,” Tarasova said.

Previously, this opinion was expressed by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. For this reason, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended athletes from both countries from competitions.

The last official debut of Russian figure skaters was the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. In the individual tournament at the games, Eteri Tutberidze’s student Anna Shcherbakova won the gold medal, while another student of coach Alexander Trusov came second.

Previously Peskov in the name Kamil Valieva will continue to defend her rights.
