“I don’t want to complain about fate”: Tutberidze spoke about Russia’s dismissal 10:20

Honored Coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze in an interview with a Japanese TV channel NHK He expressed confidence that the ban on Russian athletes from the international stage will end.

“I didn’t close the doors either. Why? Actually, I don’t know, we have to wait, I’m sure we have to be released sooner or later. I said before: I don’t want to complain about fate. We didn’t close ourselves to anyone, we can share what we have, it’s not much, but we have it,” said Tutberidze.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. For this reason, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended athletes from both countries from competitions.

The last official debut of Russian figure skaters was the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Tutberidze’s student Anna Shcherbakova won the gold medal in the individual tournament at the Games, while another student of coach Alexander Trusov came in second.

Previously Tutberidze spoke About the doping of Kamila Valieva.
