Valery Gladilin, former football player and coach of Spartak Moscow, mentioned that the work of referees has changed while watching video replays of controversial sections during matches. In an interview with socialbites.ca, he stated that it was correct for the decisions to be expressed to the audience and said that the policy of the head of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov was correct.

“They are going on the right path. Still, the president of the RFU, Dyukov, is following the right policy, because we must follow the same path as European and world football. We must not deviate from this course. We also comply with what has been happening in the world’s leading football powers for a long time. So this is the right decision, I fully support it .

Those who go to stadiums will get used to it. But the majority of fans watch football on television, millions of viewers – everything is explained on the broadcast. Tens of thousands of people come to the stadium. And everything needs to be explained on the air,” says Gladilin.

From March 2024, the first referees of matches will be required to announce their decisions loudly after watching the video of the match on the monitor. The judges will be heard both in the stadium and on television in the spring part of the 2023/24 season.

This trial is being run by the RFU under the auspices of the International Football Association Council (IFAB) and the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). A similar initiative will apply to Media Football League (MFL) matches from 2022.

Former coach of Spartak Carrera left He conveyed his wishes to the team.
