Former CSKA and USSR national team defender Vladimir Ponomarev named one of the most respected football men in Russia. He shared his opinion with him legal betting.

Under his leadership, St. Petersburg won the Russian Championship five times, the Cup once and the Super Cup three times. Twice Semak was chosen as the best coach of the year.
