A young woman’s fear of returning home after a night out is a concern many face, and it was exploited in an alarming sequence in Zaragoza. A Dominican man, aged 37, identified as F. A. H. R., became the center of a troubling case after a night at a local pub. Reports indicate that he not only pursued the victim inside the venue but also contacted her in the early hours of the morning, offering to escort her home and arranging a taxi. Instead, he took her to his residence, where she was restrained in a private room and, according to her account to the police, subjected to vaginal penetration. It is noted that he had been detained in March of the previous year for a comparable assault on another woman inside the bathrooms of a different venue, Canterbury, raising concerns about a pattern of predatory behavior.
On the day after the incident, the man turned himself in to the national police with legal representation, appearing at the request of authorities in the early morning. He was released after appearing before a magistrate in Zaragoza, with a court order issued against him to stay away from the victim. The early morning surrender was witnessed by his attorney and a second lawyer, After being processed, he was placed under a precautionary measure while the investigation continued.
The events unfolded on the night of February 16. The victim and a friend had been out clubbing, moving from one venue to another. Inside the first club, Tabú, she encountered the accused and briefly went toward the restroom, where he followed and allegedly attempted to touch her inappropriately. A club staff member intervened to remove him from the premises. The two women left for a second venue on Ricla Street while he persisted in contacting the victim by phone. She only answered late at night, at which point he claimed to be waiting with a taxi to pick her up. He eventually drove her to his home in the Las Fuentes district, where the victim reported that her clothing was forcibly tampered with and she was assaulted.
That same morning, urgent care at the Miguel Servet University Hospital documented injuries consistent with the assault. The medical report described scarring and bruising on the inner left thigh and a vulvar laceration. The accused is a familiar figure to law enforcement, with a record showing multiple prior arrests. Several of his recent charges include offenses related to health and safety, a breach of court conditions, and a sexual aggression charge. Notably, in March of the previous year, he allegedly seized a young woman’s mobile phone at the Mamanucca club and assaulted her in Canterbury’s bathrooms.
