Former Spartak coach Valery Gladilin appreciated the play of the red-whites’ new player, Costa Rican striker Manfred Ugalde. His words are quoted “Euro-Football.Ru”.
“I played well. I liked her. The new player has already adapted to the team and communicates with everyone. Although not being able to speak Russian is still a problem for him.
Is it possible that Maslov, Moses, Martins and Klassen will leave? The right solution. It is wrong to keep 22 players of approximately equal value, many of whom do not make the roster. This is especially true for highly paid foreign players. Moreover, they are all in their best condition, they need to play,” said Gladilin.
Manfred Ugalde moved to Spartak in January 2024 for €13 million + €2 million bonus. The striker made his debut for the red-whites in the Rostov match. The Costa Rican scored in the match against Shabab Al Ahly.
The striker, who played 25 matches in all competitions for Twente this season, recorded 9 goals and 7 assists in these matches.
In the summer of 2023, Spartak loaned two forwards Keith Balde and Shamar Nicholson. For most of the season Alexander Sobolev remained the main striker.
Previously Zarema stated about his participation in Spartak’s victories after leaving the club.
