Anton Gorbashov, head of the Lamoda sports equipment category management department, in a conversation with socialbites.ca, told how to dress correctly for running in the winter season.

“Dress in layers and pay attention to weather conditions. Running adds about +10 degrees to the feeling of warmth. So, if it is +10°C outside, you will feel approximately +20°C during training. Therefore, it is important to choose the right clothes.

The lower the temperature outside, the more layers you need. The constant basis of the top for winter training is a T-shirt or a running jacket with long sleeves and fleece.

In this case, the scheme is as follows: 1) +10°C and above – running trousers or tights (tight tracksuit bottoms), a light windbreaker; 2) from -10°C to +10°C – insulated leggings or trousers, a jacket with a breathable lining or membrane; 3) Below -10°C – insulated tights + running trousers and insulated running jacket.

This jacket differs from a regular down jacket in that it is not insulated on the back, which means you will sweat less. A jacket combining warming fleece and membrane is also suitable,” said Gorbashov.
