Lokomotiv Moscow Sports Director Dmitry Ulyanov said that the team’s defender Stanislav Magkeev refused to sign a new contract. His words are quoted “Match TV”.
“We made a new contract offer to Magkeev while he was still injured. That’s why we wanted to support the football player and show that he is important to us. But Stas refused,” Ulyanov said.
24-year-old Magkeev is a student of the “railway workers”. The defender made his debut in the main team on May 26, 2019 against Ufa. In the summer of 2020, he extended his contract with the team for four years. At the end of 2020, Magkeev became a candidate for the “Top Five” award, which has been awarded every year since 2002 to the best young player in Russian football.
In 2021, the defender suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee. In May 2023, Magkeev was diagnosed with a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee joint.
The defender did not play on the field this season.
