The accounts of Salavat Yulaev, the Ufa club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL), were frozen due to debts. This was reported by telegram channel Base.
According to him, on January 29, the Federal Tax Service suspended transactions on all club accounts. The basis was the implementation of a decision regarding the collection of taxes, duties, penalties or fines.
It was noted that the team management hopes to solve the problem of account blocking in the coming months.
These are not the first problems with taxes: in February 2023, hockey players and Salavat employees began to complain about delayed salaries. Then the club owed them about 300 million rubles, while the leadership of the republic did not allow them to take money on loan. Salavat General Director Rinat Bashirov promised to pay debts at the end of May, but paid salaries only in the summer.
In the current KHL season, Salavat Yulaev has collected 79 points after 56 games and is in third place in the Eastern Conference standings, five points behind the leaders Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
