The International Skating Union (ISU) has decided not to organize the World Grand Prix stage in Russia in the 2024/25 season. This was reported by press service organizations.

At the meeting of the ISU Council on January 26, it was announced that the stages of the Grand Prix series in the new season will be hosted by the USA, Japan, Finland, Canada, France and China.

The last time Russia hosted the world round of the Grand Prix was in November 2021, when the competition was held at the Olympic Park in Sochi.

In March 2022, the ISU suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competition. In the 2022/23 season, they focused on domestic competitions (Russian Grand Prix stages and the national championship). Although the issue of the return of Russian athletes was on the agenda at the ISU meeting held in October 2023, it was not brought up.
