Olympic champions of the team tournament, Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov, won the pairs competition at the Russian Figure Skating Championships.
Skaters scored 161.84 points in the free program, reaching 244.85 points in total. Silver went to European champions Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky (236.32). Bronze – Ekaterina Chikmareva and Matvey Yanchenkov (227.97).
The Russian Championship will take place in Chelyabinsk from 20 to 24 December. The competition part will end with the women’s free program on December 23.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.
For this reason, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended athletes from both countries from competitions. The last major tournament for the Russians was the Olympic Games in Beijing in February 2022.
