Russian hockey player named the first star of the week in the NHL

North American portal Hockey News made The three best players of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) final gameweek.

The first star of the week was Russian Tampa Bay Lightning goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevski. The second star is Carter Hart, the Canadian goaltender of the Philadelphia Flyers, and the third star is Tomas Hertl, the Czech forward of the San Jose Sharks.

Vasilevski has been playing in Tampa since 2014. He appeared in 60 games in the final season of the NHL regular season. His safety factor was 2.65 and his save percentage was 0.915.

The Russian won the Stanley Cup twice (2020 and 2021) with Tampa. The goalie won the Vezina Trophy and the Conn Smythe Trophy. He won the 2014 World Championships as a member of the Russian national team. In the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Vasilevski played for Ufa Salavat Yulaev.
