Elche will participate in the draw for the 32nd round of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday, December 12.

The Elche team defeated Primera RFEF’s Linares, but they had to suffer until the last moments to win the second round match against Linares.

Franjiverdes completely dominated the match. They had to wait until the 57th minute to take the lead on the scoreboard with a goal from Borja Garcés. And when it looked like the match was already on track, just three minutes later, the Jaenenses equalized from set-piece, the only time they shot between the three sticks.

Beccacece did not like what he saw and was forced to remove league starters such as Nico Castro, Mourad, Clerc, Áleix Febas and Sergio León.

Certainly, Febas broke the score for the second time in a good individual game and with the match almost on track, Sergio León joined the party and scored the final 1-3.

The Elche coach rotated as announced and in the last league match played in Alcorcón, none of the players in the starting 11 were in the starting 11.

Edgar Badia was the goalkeeper, Carreira played the role of Josan at right-back. Javi Pamies and Diego González positioned themselves at the axis of the defense, occupying the positions of Mario Gaspar and Pedro Bigas; and Salinas was positioned as the third centre-back in defense and left-back in attack, just like Clerc did in league matches. The left-footed winger became Lautaro Blanco, replacing Tete Morente, who was rested and did not make much progress.

In the middle of the field, Cristian Salvador, Rodrigo Mendoza, Fidel and Adam appeared, replacing Febas, Nico Castro, Nico Fernández and the other rested Óscar Plano. The offensive reference was Borja Garcés.

The name changes, but Franjiverde’s coach retained his opinion of the game.

The Franjiverdes emerged focused at the request of the Argentinian coach, and when they reached 40 seconds, Garcés managed to score, but local goalkeeper Samu Casasdo also saved on the same line.

Elche continued to gain the upper hand as they wanted, and in the 12th minute, we once again saw how the defense and the goalkeeper blocked the shot of Carrerira, one of the most active players of the first half.

Starting from the fourth hour, the game started to become equal and Linares started to have more of the ball, although he did not pose a danger for Edgar Badia’s goal.

It cost the Elche team more. The rain at the Muncipal de Linarejos stadium added to the heroics of the cup.

Although Beccacece’s team did not dominate much, they once again made two dangerous approaches. Lautaro Blanco, who had difficulty getting into the game after Borja Garcés’ shot went wide, tried his shot from distance.

The timeout came with no movement on the scoreboard and swords in the air.

Changes for improvement

Fidel attempted a lob at the start of the second half, almost surprising Samu Casado. Murad, who had just left, could not complete the rejection either.

Beccacece decided it was time to make his debut in the League. In addition to Mourada, Nico Castro also came out.

Elche once again took control of the game and the score was 0-1 in the 57th minute. Garcés put Franjiverdes ahead at the far post.

The tie appeared to be resolved. But it’s far from reality. Just three minutes later, after an infield foul, Samu Corral capitalized on a ground ball to equalize, and the Linares crowd rose to its feet because they saw a surprise possible. Yes we can! Decibels increased.

Áleix Febas had to come on and his quality caused the match and the draw to collapse.

Nico Castro and Mourad managed to score 1-2. The youngster made a great save from Samu Casado.

We had to wait until the 82nd minute, when Febas played on one of his usual runs, did a one-two with Salinas and was finished by the Catalan, the center of the youth team. The ball hit the post and slid towards Jaén’s goal.

The Elche team’s second goal dampened the enthusiasm and excitement of the locals, who lowered their arms.

However, Elche wanted more and Sergio León, who left the game with the score equal in the last minutes, recovered his love with a goal. Cordovan has an innate sense of smell. Seeing that the Linares goalkeeper was out of his own area, the player took advantage of the defensive mistake to score 1-3 and end the match.

Although the important thing is the League, Beccacece confirmed that he also wants the cup by removing the players who theoretically started in the last part of the match.

Also, two uninjured strikers: Borja Garcés and Sergio León scored goals, which helped them gain morale and regain control in the league matches.

Elche’s team will face their opponent next Friday and draw in the round of 32 on the Three Kings’ Day weekend. Although they could play the match at the Martínez Valero stadium, they will almost certainly face an opponent from the Second Division.
