10- HENRIUM MARTIN

Nicknamed the ‘Bomb’, Hendrik Martijn came to the Águilas in 2018 to accompany Oribe Peralta up front. He started his first years from the bench as a second option in attack. However, in 2022, he took over and established himself as a striker for the Coapa team. In Clausura 2023, Martín Gonzalo surpassed Farfán as America’s tenth highest scorer and currently registers 88 goals in all competitions.
9- CARLOS HERMOSILLO
Recruited from amateur football, he arrived in Coapa in the 1983–84 campaign he scored a goal in the final against Chivas to add his first title with the Águilas. He scored again in other matches to win the championship: twice against Pumas (1984-85) and another couple against Cruz Azul (1988-89).
In total it added 93 goals; However, he managed to finish as the scoring leader for the Cementeros.
8- CARLOS REINOSO
The Chilean formed an attacking duo with Enrique Borja in the 1970s. Although he was in reality a creative midfielder, his class and technique made him 95 notes at his step.
“The balls must always go through Reinoso,” coach Jose Antonio Roca said. All his qualities as a player are reflected in two goals: Rfertilize in the league final against UdG (1975-76) and the free kick that scored against Boca’s goalkeeper Hugo Gatti in the 1977 Inter-American Cup final.
7- SALVADOR CABAÑAS
The dramatic outcome of his football career only allowed him to achieve 98 goals with America. How many places would he have risen in this ranking had he not been shot in the head that early morning in January 2010?
His story with the Águilas began in the Apertura 2006 when he was signed by Jaguares de Chiapas, where he was the scoring leader in the Clausura 2006. Although he did not repeat that distinction in the Liga MX, he became the top scorer in the Libertadores Cup twice (2007 and 2008).
6- EDUARDO GONZÁLEZ PÁLMER
In the 1958–59 season, he finished as the scoring leader (25 goals) and was the team’s first player in the professional era of Mexican football to achieve that recognition. He made recordings in the decade that he wore the colors of the institute (1951-62). 102 goals.
Not only did he stand out as a striker, in a cup final against Chivas del Guadalajara (1954) he stood out as a goalkeeper and saved three shots in the penalty shootout.
5- ENRIQUE BORJA
Charismatic striker who was a figure at Pumas de la UNAM when recruited by América in 1969. It is said that he even turned to the rector of UNAM and the President of Mexico, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, to prevent his transfer.
In his first two league tournaments he scored only six goals. He later became the club’s first player to win a three-time scoring championship (1970–71, 1971–72 and 1973–74). His lack of technique was compensated by speed and location which he took advantage of to finish with every part of the body. This is how he managed it 103 goals.
4- JOSÉ ALVES ZAGUE
He played alongside Pelé for Santos and Coutinho when bought by América in 1961. At that point, the team had not won the league for 33 years and the new owner, Emilio Azcárraga Milmo – also owner of Televisa – strengthened the squad to end the drought. He achieved this in the 1963–64 campaign.
However, it seemed that Zague would not shine due to a knee injury and the club would have offered him retirement. The attacker recovered and became top scorer in the 1965-1966 season. His speed, dribbling and heading allowed him to harvest 106 goals nicknamed The Lone Wolf, as he was the only attacker in coach Alejandro Scopelli’s plan.
3- OCTAVIO BOTTLE
He made his debut for the club in the 1936-1937 season. He was nicknamed The Flea. It is said that he had great jumping ability and therefore finished in spectacular fashion. He experienced difficult seasons in which America was close to relegation. After leaving the club in the 1947-1948 cycle, his record of 148 goals It was in effect for just over four decades.
2- CUAUHTÉMOC WHITE
His special qualities ensured that he played every position in the attack: attacker, winger, midfielder or striker. His goals are remembered for his celebrations, such as the signal that so distinguished him, or the time he pretended to be a banderillero. He also behaved like a dog urinating on the goal or during the match when he lay down on the grass in front of Ricardo La Volpe as if he were challenging the coach.
He rallied with the Eagles 153 scored and in the winter of 1998 he was the scoring leader of the Liga MX with 16 goals. In the Copa Libertadores he registered 15 goals.
1- LUIS ROBERTO ALVES ZAGUE
Son of José Alves. He played for Corinthians in the 1980s, when he was discovered by América, where he made his debut in the México 86 tournament, scoring just four goals. Few thought these were the first of the 192 goals which he ended up doing in the nest.
Despite declaring himself the top scorer in the club’s history , He was never the scoring leader in Liga MX. He achieved that quota thanks to his speed, long stride to catch and power in his shots.
