Bayern Munich are apparently “very interested” in signing Ronald Araujo but do not believe they can land the defender.
According to a report from Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel is a huge admirer of the centre-back and would like to see him play at the Allianz Arena. However, they are not optimistic about his signing as it is clear that Barça want to keep the defender and give him a contract extension.
Since making his debut for the Blaugranas, Araujo has become a vital member of Barcelona and is currently regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Europe. When fit, he is considered one of the first names in Xavi’s squad, and it has long been predicted that he will eventually take over as captain. Araujo has also always stated that he likes playing for Barcelona,
Earlier this year, Araújo revealed that he believes he could be the Catalan club’s captain after coming through the academy and making a name for himself as one of the club’s leaders.
“I am proud of the opportunity to become captain of Barcelona.

The Uruguayan is unlikely to leave the Blaugrana this season as they look to return to the top of the league and end previous problems in the Champions League.
