Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has been criticized by Arturo Vidal for his celebration after a fantastic bicycle kick against Everton.
After the Red Devils’ 3-0 win, where Garnacho surprised Goodison Park with an incredible bicycle kick that will likely end up as Premier League Goal of the Year, Arturo Vidal, former midfielder for Bayern Munich, Juventus and Barcelona,
Despite playing with Lionel Messi in Argentina, Garnacho has publicly stated that Ronaldo is his idol in football.
“The only bad thing, or what I didn’t understand, is why is he celebrating it as a Christian?,” Vidal said on Twitch (via The Metro). “He has to make a name for himself. He is already a great player. It’s good that he is his idol, I respect that, but then he also has to make a name for himself. How are you going to celebrate and remember a goal?” I don’t know, celebrate it in a different way. But “It was a great goal.”
Garnacho’s early goal set the tone of the match, which saw the Red Devils overtake Sean Dyche’s men, who are currently second-last after the Premier League deducted 10 points after being found guilty of breaching profitability rules and sustainability of the Premier League. The victory helped Manchester United to back-to-back victories ahead of the crucial match against Galatasaray in the Champions League.
