Ukrainian, six-time world champion in kickboxing, died in the SVO region

Ukrainian Sergei Lysyuk, a multiple world champion in kickboxing, died in the special military operation (SVO) zone. This was reported by telegram channel Youth and Sports Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

It was reported that Lysyuk was on duty in the Donetsk direction. It was blown up by a mine while performing a combat mission on November 12. The athlete’s leg was amputated, but his life could not be saved. Dnieper doctors struggled for life for about 10 days, but the wounds were very serious.

Sergei Lysyuk is the Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine and a multiple European and world champion. Before starting SVO, he served as a senior lecturer at the Physical Education Department of the Chernigov State Penitentiary Service Academy. In 2022, the athlete participated in the defense of the territory, and then took part in the battles in Donbass. Sergei Lysyuk is a six-time world champion in kickboxing.
