Six Russians named among NHL’s top 50 talents

Six Russian players were among the top 50 talents of the National Hockey League (NHL), according to the Canadian channel TSN.

The list of players includes not only hockey players currently playing in the NHL, but also hockey players playing on farm teams and hockey players selected by league clubs.

Andrey Svechnikov became the best of the Russians. He ranked 12th. The list also includes Matvey Michkov (16), Pavel Mintyukov (34), Alexander Nikishin (39), Dmitry Simashev (46) and Yaroslav Askarov (47).

TSN has Chicago’s Connor Bedard ranked first.

Svechnikov was born in Barnaul in 2000. He has been playing for the Carolina Hurricanes since 2018. He was selected 2nd overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Svechnikov played in nine games for Carolina this season and scored ten points (5+5).

In the next game of the regular season, Carolina will play against the Edmontoy Oilers. The meeting will take place on November 23. The first match will take place at 3:00 Moscow time.
