The Spanish expert included the Argentinian in his five-man symbolic team, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, Ronaldo and Johan Cruyff.
“Messi is the most influential player in the history of football. “For many years we have not seen anyone do what he does on the field,” said Arteta.
In the summer of 2023, Messi was transferred to Inter Miami after two seasons with the French PSG. He made his debut with the US club on July 22, scoring from a free kick in the first match. On August 20, the Argentinian won his first trophy in America. Inter Miami won the League Cup by beating Nashville in a penalty shootout in the last match of the tournament (10:9).
As a member of the Argentine national team, Messi became a world champion, America’s Cup winner and Olympic champion.
