Former Russian Premier League (RPL) referee Igor Fedotov spoke about the emotional incident between Lokomotiv’s striker Artem Dzyuba and the referee of the match Akhmat Evgeny Kukulyak. His words are quoted “Championship”.
“But most of all I didn’t like the moment with Dzyuba: at the 30th minute Artem started pushing him, and Kukulyak stood there alone. Dziuba should have been asked back, what does he allow himself to do? You are the judge, you should not allow such behavior. Then he showed the card to Artem – but nothing happened. Fedotov, we saw that Dzyuba was clearly not interested in his health; “He needs to stop this kind of disrespect,” he said.
On November 11, Lokomotiv beat Akhmat with a score of 2:1 in the 15th round of the RPL. The winners’ goals were scored by Maxim Glushenkov and Timur Suleymanov.
In the new season, Dzyuba played 13 matches in the Russian Championship and four matches in the National Cup and scored four goals and two assists. Last season, the striker shared the title of the team’s top scorer with Izidor and Miranchuk, playing for only half of the season.
