WHAT HAPPENED? According to The Mirror, both Premier League teams are very interested in the player, despite Brandt signing a new contract with Borussia Dortmund in the summer until 2026. The report also suggests that Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the German player, but Liverpool are currently not in the running to sign him.
THE BIG PICTURE: In their two Champions League games, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have scrutinized the 27-year-old German sensation. Brandt scored in the 2-0 win against Newcastle on Tuesday. Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Brandt despite Dortmund’s refusal to consider a bid for the player they bought for around £22million.
