Mauricio Pochettino says new signing Cole Palmer reminds him of Argentina and Benfica striker Ángel Di María.

- Pochettino compares Di María
WHAT HAPPENED? Palmer is enjoying a good start to life in West London following his summer move from Manchester City. The 21-year-old has scored three goals and provided four assists in his last seven appearances and will face his former club in a key Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
WHAT THEY SAID: Pochettino was asked about suggestions that Palmer had a similar profile to former Chelsea star Juan Mata, but felt the comparisons were a little misplaced.
“Juan Mata? No, he looks more like Di María! You know, the body and the way he moves,” he told reporters.
THE BIG PICTURE: The Chelsea manager was also asked if he was surprised City let Palmer go but felt he did not want to get involved in that particular debate.
“I’m not surprised I’m surprised because he’s performing now and he didn’t play much at City,” the Chelsea manager said. “We are two different clubs, with different objectives. Maybe he will be a good fit for Chelsea.” [Mateo] Kovacic left Chelsea for City and I don’t know what happened. “It’s always difficult to judge these kinds of decisions.”

WHAT’S NEXT? Chelsea will hope to build on their victory against Tottenham when they take on Manchester City in a match that pits Palmer and Raheem Sterling against their former team.
