Former Zenit and Russian national team player Andrei Arshavin talked about the possible transfer of a Russian player to the English Premier League (EPL) club. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“Most likely the level is not enough, but Golovin could achieve it – only he. Maybe Zakharyan, but over time,” said Arshavin.
Arshavin played for Arsenal in England for four years. He was the league’s player of the month in April 2009.
Golovin moved to Monaco from the capital CSKA in the summer of 2018.
The Russian player played in 34 matches in Ligue 1 last season. The midfielder scored eight goals and seven assists. Golovin broke the goal record in Ligue 1.
The Russian player played in 10 matches this season, scored 5 goals and made 2 assists. Golovin was Monaco’s best player in September and October and is also competing against Kylian Mbappe and Warren Zaire-Emery as the Ligue 1 player of the month candidate.
