The Brazilian forward extended his bond with the white team shortly after Vinicius did.
Rodrygo Goes has officially extended his contract with Real Madrid. The Brazilian forward extends his contract at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2028, a few hours after his compatriot Vinicius Jr.
Rodrygo Goes’ extension at Real Madrid: how many years of contract he signs, salary and termination clause
Rodrygo Goes extends his contract with Real Madrid until mid-2028, and the announcement of his extension was made on Thursday, November 2, in the box of honor at the Bernabéu.
Like Vinicius, Rodrygo will receive a termination clause of one billion euros to avoid tempting offers from the Premier League or the Saudi Arabian league.
Rodrygo, who came to Madrid in 2019 and had a contract until 2025, extends his contract for another three years, precisely at the least productive moment since he arrived in the Spanish capital.
Until his extension, the Brazilian only scored two goals and one assist in 14 games (1,017 minutes). He has not scored in the competition since the first day, against Athletic Club de Bilbao.
In this sense, it does not seem coincidental that Goes’ extension has just been announced, and can be considered a necessary public boost with which Real Madrid shows that they continue to have confidence in the 22-year-old Osasco-born striker.
According to various media such as “Marca” or “AS”, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Éder Militao will be the next to be renewed.
Real Madrid’s statement
“Real Madrid CF and Rodrygo have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will remain with the club until June 30, 2028.
Rodrygo arrived at Real Madrid in 2019, when he was just 18 years old. He made his debut for Real Madrid Castilla on September 14 and on September 25 he scored his first goal on his official debut for Real Madrid.
In the five seasons in which he defended the first team shirt, he played 179 matches, scoring 39 goals and winning 8 titles: 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 competitions, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups.
At the age of 22, Rodrygo was decisive in many titles won by Real Madrid in recent seasons. On the way to the fourteenth European Cup, Rodrygo scored several goals that allowed Real Madrid to overcome the qualifying rounds that are now part of our history. In the team’s last title, the 2023 Copa del Rey in Seville, he scored the two winning goals (2–1) and was the MVP of the final.
