The men’s competition has ended in the third stage of the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix held in Krasnoyarsk. The winner was Dmitry Aliev, who received 260.07 points. Silver went to Dmitry Samarin (256.99). Peter Gumennik closed out the top three winners (242.77).
After the short program, Aliyev also became the leader of the competition, while Petr Gumennik took only eighth place.
Aliyev is the 2020 European champion, he also won the Russian championship in the same year.
On October 29, the girls will perform their free program. After the short program, Maria Agayeva is in the leading role.
The International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. In the 2022/23 season, they focused on domestic competitions (Russian Grand Prix stages and the national championship). Although the issue of the return of Russian athletes was brought up at the ISU meeting held in October, it was not brought to the agenda.
