Member of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Evgeny Revenko commented on the statement of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) that the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) still does not comply with the World Anti-Doping Code. Revenko quotes his words press service RUSADA.
“The problem is not the inconsistency of our national legislation, but the biased, discriminatory attitude of WADA not only towards RUSADA, but also towards Russian sports in principle. “The goal is to delay the deadline as much as possible and not bring back RUSADA, so as not to restore our sport to its full rights,” Revenko said.
The previous day, WADA stated that RUSADA continued to fail to comply with the World Anti-Doping Code. Additionally, WADA punished 218 Russian athletes based on data obtained from the Moscow laboratory.
WADA has previously stated that RUSADA’s status continues to be non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code. The Russian organization will have this status until it meets all conditions for restoration. Let us recall that in December 2019, the WADA Executive Committee in Lausanne unanimously accepted the recommendations of the compliance committee and removed RUSADA from its status.
On September 21, the Russian Ministry of Sports announced that it refused to pay contributions to WADA under the same conditions.
Previously at WADA saidUntil Russian athletes could no longer compete under their own flag.
