In his statement to socialbites.ca, former football player of CSKA Moscow and Spartak Valery Masalitin explained that the goal of the technical staff of the Russian national team in the autumn training camp is to get to know young football players and understand their abilities.

“You see, this meeting is mostly for informational purposes. There was no outcome at stake, we just needed to watch more men, get to know them better, discover their abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Naturally, this team did not play. To play well you need training camps, a few games, choosing some tactics and understanding your opponent correctly. But people came here and played from scratch. It is clear that there are duets, interconnected connections – they play together in the club or have played for the national team before, they understand each other. Also, someone may have higher individual skill, which allows the player to show his best qualities,” said Masalitin.

The Russian team played two matches with the Egyptian Olympic team: they drew 1:1 on September 7 and lost 1:2 on September 11. On September 12, Valery Karpin’s players faced the Qatar national team and the match ended in a 1:1 draw. socialbites.ca edited a text online broadcast match.

Previously Russia to win Just one of the last seven games under Karpin.
