The striker of the skilled team, a youth player of Atlético de Madrid, had to apologize after celebrating his goal against Cartagena.
Real Zaragoza won 1-3 at the home of Cartagena, but one of the images of that handicapped victory was the unfortunate celebration in which Víctor Mollejo played the leading role. After his team’s third goal, the Atlético de Madrid youth player touched his genitals in a position that could cost him a sanction from LaLiga.
And the image went viral on social networks, causing a wave of negative reactions and rejection among the football community and fans.
That same Sunday, September 10, the striker of the Maño team, formerly of Getafe, wanted to apologize for his reprehensible celebration. “I would like to apologize. It is a gesture that obviously does not correspond to the education I have received,” Mollejo said in a video Zaragoza published on his social networks.
And he added: “Now I deeply regret it, I wish I had changed it. I want to say that it was nothing major and it was not directed at anyone. It’s no excuse, but it wasn’t anything major. I apologize to all the people who felt offended. “From here I say I’m sorry, and that’s it.”
