Spending has reached an unprecedented level this summer, but some teams have managed to find good prices on the market.
The summer 2023 transfer window was marked by heavy cash spending, and the entry of the Saudi Pro League into the European market gave the continent’s leading players and agents a breath of fresh air in the negotiations.
However, the riches that the Middle East has to offer are not the only reason why the market keeps going. Fueled by massive deals, the Premier League once again lived up to its reputation as the land of the big spenders, with Declan Rice and Moisés Caicedo swapping English clubs for more than £100 million ($126 million).
Other European teams have also shown their financial strength, with Bayern Munich’s busy summer highlighted by the transfer of Harry Kane from Tottenham for €100 million.
However, in this bloated market, some teams have shown that it is still possible to get a fair deal.
