After the collapse of the dance duet with Vasilisa Kaganovskaya, Russian skater Valery Angelopol posted Stories on Instagram (the owner of Meta is known and banned in Russia as an extremist), wrote three words.
“Thank you. I forgive. I quit,” Angelopol wrote.
The breakup of the duo was announced on August 31. Initially, Angelopol announced that it would not make any media comment on this matter.
The skaters became winners of the 2023 Russian Grand Prix as well as the Junior Grand Prix. In March 2021, Kaganovskaya and Angelopol competed in the final of the Russian Cup among juniors, losing 171.38 points, losing only to Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that domestic and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. The International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. They focused on local competitions (Russian Grand Prix and national championship stages) in the 2022/23 season.
Formerly Kaganovskaya saidThat Angelopol demands to take him to full support.
