That day, Real Madrid, Barcelona, ​​​​Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Sevilla meet their three rivals in the group stage of the tournament.

How does the lottery work?

  • The draw involves 32 teams: 26 teams with direct access to the group stage and the six winners of the play-off qualifiers.
  • The teams are divided into four qualifying groups. Pot 1 will consist of the reigning champions, the UEFA Europa League champions and the champions of the top six ranked associations that have not qualified through any of the 2021/22 titles. Pots 2 through 4 are determined based on the club coefficient ranking.
  • In the case of federations with two or more representatives, the clubs are paired to divide their matches between Tuesday and Wednesday. In federations with four representatives, two pairings are made. These combinations will be based on television audiences.
