Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev talked about the failures the players had on their coaches during the matches.
“I usually think that tennis drives people crazy. People in the sense of tennis player. There are days when you sleep well, wake up but can’t hit a single ball on the court. You get frustrated and, say, after ten mistakes, you look at your coach and you think, “What’s going on?” “I don’t think it’s a great thing for a player to be the main player in his relationship with the coach,” Medvedev said at the post-match press conference.
At the start of the US Open on August 29, Medvedev defeated Hungarian Attila Balazs in three sets with scores of 6:1, 6:1 and 6:0. In the second round, the Russian tennis player will face Australian Christopher O’Connell. The tennis players, who fought each other in the second round of the 2020 US Open, also faced each other in the quarter-finals of the tournament held in Doha this season. Both matches were for the Russians.
Medvedev ranks third in the Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP) rankings.
