On 17 July, the Football Federation of Ukraine (UAF) applied to the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA for the removal of the Russian Football Union (RFU) from the organizations due to the participation of Crimean clubs in the Second League.

RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov, in his meeting with Sport24 on 7 July, noted that Sevastopol and Yalta Rubin did not play in the competitions under the auspices of the RFU, and that the National Football League (FNL) organized competitions in the Second Division.
