Silver medalist of the Olympic Games – 2018 Alexander Enbert in figure skating Interview with socialbites.ca He stated that he was not surprised by the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to send invitations to Russia within the deadline set for the Paris – 2024 Olympics.

“Everything was going towards him. There was no feeling that our athletes would go to the Olympics. According to all the rhetoric heard recently, it was expected that the invitation would not be sent by the deadline. Of course, this is bad. It is very unpleasant for me, it hurts for athletes who have prepared and continue to prepare all their lives, but unfortunately that is the case,” said Enbert.

At the same time, the medalist of the Pyeongchang Olympics suggested that representatives of some sports from Russia could go to the Games in Paris in a neutral status.

“Some athletes are still performing. For example, the World Fencing Championship was held and our athletes were there. Tennis players are playing. Where federations find some kind of agreement, the Russians act on a neutral status,” Enbert said.

It was previously known that Ukraine will withdraw from the OlympicsIf the Russians are allowed to compete under their own flag.
