Russian Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was named the first star of the third game played against the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League (NHL) Eastern Conference final series.
The match ended with the Panthers winning 1-0. The 34-year-old saved all 32 shots for the first knockout in the Stanley Cup. Bobrovsky is recognized as the first star for the second game in a row.
The second star of the meeting chose the author of the abandoned disc in “Florida” striker Sam Rinehart. The third star of the match was Panthers forward Sam Bennett, who provided an assist.
Florida leads the series 3-0. The next match of the match will start on May 25 at 03:00 Moscow time.
Bobrovsky became the seventh Russian goalkeeper in history without conceding a goal in the Stanley Cup. The league record holders among Russians in the number of closures are Evgeny Nabokov and Andrey Vasilevski (seven matches each). This is followed by Nikolai Khabibulin (six), Ilya Bryzgalov and Semyon Varlamov (four) and Anton Khudobin (one).
