The World Figure Skating Team Championships started today in Tokyo. The short program was won by American figure skater Ilya Malinin. He scored 105.9 points.
In second place is South Korean representative Cha Jun-hwan. It has 101.33 points. The top three were closed by Kevin Aimoz (100.58 points) from France.

Team USA is the leader in the team standings. Americans have 50 points. The South Korean team has 39 points, while Japan has 36 points.
Tomorrow, sports couples will perform in Tokyo with a short program, ice dancers with a free dance and women with a free program.
The tournament will end on April 16.
Recall that at the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made an appeal to international sports federations and advised not to allow domestic and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competitions. For this reason, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions.
