The issue of extending the time for alcohol sales in St. Petersburg until 23:00 was discussed at a joint meeting of the transport and industry commissions of the City Legislative Assembly, writer “Parliamentary newspaper”. To date, alcohol in the Northern capital can be purchased only until 22:00. The corresponding deputy governor Kirill Polyakov spoke in favor of the change. He noted that “whoever needs it, finds what and where to drink”, but as a result, it leads to an increase in poisoning with poor quality products. It also affects business turnover, according to the politician.
“At this stage, we understand that there may be facts of illegal sales generally after 10 pm. And perhaps it makes sense to agree with the federal legislator to reduce the number of violations in this area and raise the bar in the evening. Because obviously, as soon as official alcohol is banned, they also start selling unofficial alcohol under the counter. There is common sense,” said Polyakov.
He added that it is not profitable for shops to operate without selling alcohol, so most of the outlets are only open when it is possible to sell alcoholic beverages. As a result, fewer and fewer shops are open until late, so you have to go to a gas station or large 24-hour hypermarkets for subsequent urgent purchases, the vice-governor concluded.
Formerly law enforcement agencies of Ufa discovered a large counterfeit alcohol outlet whose store is located in the open-air restroom.
