Jose Lana’s Spain Under-19 team played the Ukraine Under-19 team in search of a ticket to the 2023 Malta European Championship, to be held in July next year.

If the National Team won and the Danes did too, then the one with the best goal difference went through, which was favorable for Spain (+4 against +1 Dane). The best insurance to qualify for the European Championship was therefore to thrash a Ukraine already without options. And that is exactly what the Spaniards did: they won 4-0 and secured the ticket for the European Championship in Malta. In the end, La Rojita’s difference was +8, while Denmark’s, which beat Luxembourg 1-5 on the last day, is +5.
