Wimbledon organizers are developing a special code of conduct that Russian tennis players must sign before the start of the tournament. It has been reported daily mail.

Details of the law are yet to be finalized, according to the publication, but it is assumed that any open display of support for Russia, flying a flag or positive comments about the country will be banned. Violation of the rules may result in sanctions, including possible elimination from the tournament.

Recall that in April last year, the organizers of Wimbledon did not allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to compete. Also, players from these countries are banned from participating in lawn tournaments held in England under the auspices of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) fined the LTA on December 7 for not allowing Russians and Belarusians to participate in tournaments held in the country. The fine amounting to 1 million dollars, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) had previously fined the British tennis player the same amount.

Wimbledon will be held from 3-16 July this year.
