Israeli actor Chaim Topol has died at the age of 87. In this respect informs Hollywood Reporter.
Two-time Golden Globe winner, Oscar and Tony nominee had been hospitalized in severe condition the previous day.
Chaim Topol founded his own theater group in Tel Aviv in 1961 and became one of the founders of the Haifa Theatre.
In 1969, Topol played Milkman Tevye in The Fiddler on the Roof at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London. After the success of the play, he starred in Norman Jewison’s The Fiddler on the Roof (1971).
After acting in Flash Gordon, For Your Eyes Only, Queenie, True Stories. He also reprized the role of Tevye the milkman in the Broadway play The Fiddler. She retired from cinema in 1998.
